Monotonous Melodies

these pages of me
scatter in monotonous melodies
against the dark moon
wings of popsicle sticks on my back
waiting for a sign
the night slowly slithering away

One Single Impression

Summer Rain

city rain

thunderous sky shouting above
embracing the city into night
the sky drunk on water
suddenly unfolds
rain splatters down
in verticals strikes onto the pavements
street lights flicker on
huddles of umbrellas banging against each other
a sudden pause
into the daylight we stumble
umbrellas wet with drowsiness
pavements splashed in liquid sky
we yawn with no awe

One Single Impression: Transience or permanence

Bleeding

a cup full of bleeding words
thrown out by you to me
they paced among the soils of yesterday's screams
settling uncomfortably
into the concrete pages of my heart

One Single Impression

Reflection

reflections deceive
two of you
two of me
for a moment
a match made blurred
colliding in the double glass panes
under saturated graffiti and dirt
I glance over
you're no longer in view

One Single Impression

Maybe they know

the petals transmuted
their colors fading
becoming white ashes
falling quietly into the rain
reflected in reverse
their sorrowfulness
maybe they know
I'm missing you

One Single Impression

Luminous

abstract city lights

waves of luminous color lights
bind me in your unyielding spanish rhyme
imbue all these hallow spaces
for I dwell in all the wrong places

One Single Impression

Broken Wing

a broken wing of a butterfly
stranded on a canvas
framed by an ocean

One Single Impression

Laughter

a shared glint
laughter follows
a forgotten joke

One Single Impression

Small circles

her smile spreads
hands ready
his lips downward
her hands lightly on his shoulders
she guides him
in small circles
he rides once again
his slips slowly curve upward
into a half circle

One Single Impression

Spring

leaves

all my memories have left
on a long virgin journey
chasing after spring's dalliance

Cafe Writing/ Monday Poetry Train/ One Single Impression

Kindness

the clouds gloom over the sky
casting their dark shadows
a sudden hand upon my shoulder
your face beaming down at me
I smile walking next to you

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
the sun beam down heavily
drops of sweat drip down my cheeks
a sudden shadow
your smile beaming down on me
I smile walking in your shade
One Single Impression
Change
flower
spring will be coming but
no change will ever be enough
to satisfy my rusty mind
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I think I change my mind
too many times to notice
when change came for me
