eyes sealed shut in darkness
she counts the dreamless days and nights
shadowed by the sun and the moon
this lonely existence she linger in
betrayed by her own inexorable thoughts
her body soon transmuted into eternal dust
upon the earth she travels
slipping into internal worlds above and below

Lonely Existence
Solace

artwork by swoon
she was alone
all alone to fend for herself
only fictional characters from her mind by her side
she stood all alone
to field off hateful doubts and pitiful glances
the only life she ever knew was being alone
the only person she ever knew was herself
she was alone
unafraid but alone
captive in her own mind
tender bits of loneliness
spills out of her and onto the web
words that cannot save her
but they brought solace
endless solace

Digital Daydream
spring drifts away
spiraling into a digital daydream
into the land of summer blues
a million pixels of aluminum quivers
tucked under the white folds
of cross streets and vanilla skies
a crowd walks
sedated in their task
without care
without knowing
a zephyr soon to send
them into another dream

The star

Abstract by Haironie_91
She was built among the stars to shine upon the millions of humans below. The day will never meet her. The night fumbles alone without her. Her colors are infinite, spreading across the universe, shining where there's no light. But she was alone and uncatchable even as a falling star. She burnt with only one desire - to be among the humans. As she sailed across the sky watching over everyone, her sadness could not be contained. Her tears fell to earth like rain but they evaporated before they even touched any surface. And yet even as her heart longed to leave the sky, she stayed put knowing her desires can never be set free. She knew her purpose and leaving was never an option.

Fingerprints on my lips
I re-dream your face
lights flickering among brown skin
eyes swallow in shadows
a kiss of static bliss
fingerprints on my lips

Monday Poetry Train
Exile
across the even horizon
where the sky touches earth
a girl swims around the moon
her apricot face hides in the shadows
covered in violets and vines
her tail thrashing against the waves
small circular sparkles
in the deep emerald ocean
a song keeps repeating
ascending deep from within
suffocated sorrows in hushed tones
carry away by the ocean of night
dissolve by the day's rays
she follows the moonlight
to where she will soon forget
her love exiled in the land of men

In Dreams
she sleeps upon
dreams of dreams
written on scrap papers
a wish repeating
becoming a thousand more
her absent beloved
his familiar face
eyes watered with skyblue tears
voice soothingly calling her name
like silent wind chimes
together
they float on a moon cloud
his kiss soft as cotton
upon her windswept lips
his fingers brush away her tears
falling
like double rainbows down her cheeks
a bittersweet union
he takes flight
towards the sky
his smile unrelenting
a massive magnificent light
breaking into million bits of silver stars
willingly embed themselves
into the sky of night
she sleeps in dreams
night after night

Noisy Zen
scribbling eyes of a bleeding heart
drawn by a stranger of the arts
thoughts in many random marks
reminding us of Groucho Marx
straight from the white pages
in many splendid ranges
old memories from the future
found on the corner of time's juncture
sprouting out numerous reincarnation
ending in infinite self-destruction
created again by a black pen
practicing noisy zen

underneath
limestone and ashes
bound in time
archived dreams
above
ten spirits
made of stone
encircling
protecting
but not from the sweet hurricane
that unsuspectingly
left soft fissures
revealing mass creations

Wandering
her hands
flutter like a bird
pulling
at tangled hair
her eyes
dangle in their socket
weaving
from one object to the next
her mind
split in half
knows not whether she exist
she walks
the streets
waiting
wandering

Ophelia Adieu

Artwork by like_wow_24
roaming inside my memories
I saw your face
the red sun behind you
your eyes
wanted me to stay
your lips
warned me to leave
unable to hide
my strayed thoughts
I ran
far away
from your bedeviled mind
into the dark woods
the sky turned night
covering me
hiding my despair
my body
my tears
melted into the river's body
water roses entwined themselves
into my hair
my red dress
I laid here
awaiting
for love
for death

21 Dreams

"Tea Rorschach 1-21" by Jennifer Hines
These are my memories, my dreams, you said. These twenty-one paintings hanging in my living room. You said I painted them after many nights of dreaming and waking.
I have no memory of ever having touched a paintbrush and yet the feeling of deja va coursed through my brain, etching fragments of tiny scenes. Each incomplete bits settled for a second then disappeared back where they came from.
Each night they stared down at me, begging me to look at them. Each night I stayed awake studying them hoping for something to jolt my mind. But each night the details blurred more than the night before. Drawn to their odd shapes and colors like an invisible string that had tied itself to my fragile body, I pulled and tucked but the strings stayed in place.
You came one night to accompanied me but your presence only confused me more. Cryptic in your words, you said,"They're all there - your dreams. All twenty-one of them." You started to touch the middle one but you suddenly pulled away before your fingertip ever touch the surface. You turned to me and smile, kissed me on the cheek and walked out the front door. Your footsteps barely audible against the soft carpet.
After you've gone, I ran my thin fingers on their rough surfaces, each one a different texture, each unique in their own way. Vivid images of children playing in dried autumn leaves splashed before my tired eyes. Then they were gone. Their faces were a blur but I cannot mistake the happiness behind them.
One night, I dreamt about you. We were having lunch at one of our favorite restaurant. You were sitting in front of me, legs dangling off a silver chair, your apple cheeks beamed brightly in the afternoon sunlight. You stared at me with your beautiful eyes as you asked me questions after questions about the show we've just saw at the museum. It occurred to me suddenly what those paintings represented - twenty-one dreams that I had wished for. You, I shouldn't have forget, my sweet child. But now that you've returned to me, the paintings don't seem so foreign now. Their colors becomes less vivid each day but their hidden meanings still remained. Someday they will come to me. My other twenty dreams.

Shared Destiny

Artwork by Mariposa Viajera
I recreate our song
night upon nights
on the shores of our youth
the lonely moon as my constant companion
the cold wind guides you to me
lurking in your fading existent
your breath invisible upon my shoulders
our thoughts travel between time
sharing the same temperamental heart
but breathing disjoined air
will time keep you here with me
or will it snatch you back to your earlier fate
back to the lonely halls of the netherworld
will our fate languish as the nights shift to day
or will we meet again in our shared destiny
wish upon the glistening moon
our yearnings for unity

Favorite Line
softly we met with a kiss
words she read in a poem
written by the one she dreams with
the letters constantly stringing themselves together in her mind
like a siren song from the distance wind
carrying its tune into her reveries
eventually engraving into her skin, a tattoo of him
she whisper again the line, her favorite line
written by the one she dreams with
softly we met with a kiss

Spellbound

there you are on the wall
hoping to enthrall
anything that will recall
a memory like a collect call
waiting for someone to see you
in all your wonderful hue
if only they would form a queue
to drive away the yearning blue
your heart lay wide
in hopes of catching someone's eye
faceless smiles silently walk pass by
if only they wouldn't so shy
they would see themselves reflected there
they would easily unarm their fear
letting go of what they do not want to bare
seeing what could be here
if they could see your crimson pose
they would wonder if anyone knows
what's hiding in that seductive rose
that sends them into a state of mental woes
into a distant memory of an embrace
across the universe to some forgotten place
they would feel an urge to chase
the aspirations that they had wasted
they would smile anyway without knowing why
they would get a feeling of wanting to fly
and yet they would instinctively wanting to see the sky
knowing it would be a temporary high
they would drown in tears at the sight of you
remembering something so skew
if only they know why you're so blue
if only they have a clue
of what you can do
of the powers you accrue
you're only there to exude
thoughts of what they want to eschew

In the ravine of sleep

in the ravine of sleep
oceans of eyes dripping tears
down a deserted beach
she walks alone
drench in earth's water
but she takes delight in the cloudburst
a moment of peace
suddenly disappears
into the darkness of a car
it rolls over onto its tummy
crashing into a coconut tree
she slips out in a haze
in the open darkness
she calls to him, "where are you?"
its reply - a fading echo
she turns to see him still inside the dark hood
his eyes spilling over with pain
she reach out her hands to him
for a moment she holds his hand in hers
darkness enfolds her eyes
she can hear herself screaming his name into the night
she opens her eyes to the lights
of the sun filtering through the shade
alone, she falls back to bed
she turns to the empty space beside her
spreads her fingers on the cold sheets, feeling no presence
and knew he was really gone
Mist of your dreams

if you leave
go west
in the direction of the wind
you will find
a new path of life
for you
a new town
to seek new purpose
just go
don't look back
see with your eyes close
in the mist of your dreams
hands hold tight
to the nights and days
of new memories and new desires
for someday, you will find
your heart
laying within yourself
night after night
new tears upon your shoulder
a reminder
you are love
here, there
and everywhere
don't wait
just go
to a new town
to a new purpose
don't look back
your answers are waiting
where wild flowers grow
west is where your heart should go
go now
there is no need to hesitate
go now, go west
you will find yourself there
Broken Hearts
This entry is for Monday Mural at Poefusion.
While Sabrina was holding onto me, just barely by the end of my furry leg, I leaned down to give a flower to my beloved. "Here's a gift for you, my sweet," I said. She takes it and threw it down onto the ground. My heart sank along with the flower. Then she scurried away like I was some disease she was trying to avoid. Sabrina was having a hard time hanging onto me but that didn't matter. The love of my life just broke my heart, there was no reason to live.
"I can't hold on!" Sabrina yelled as my leg slowly slipped away from her hand. I fell to the ground hitting my head. I didn't feel the pain only the ache in my heart. Sabrina jumped down and sat next to me. Her face, a sympathetic circle of concern. She placed her hand on my shoulder. "Sorry about that," she said. I knew she was trying to be nice but her sympathy didn't soothe my heart.
I laid there waiting for some kind of sign that maybe my true love will come back to me. But I knew she wasn't my true love. Why else would she had dumped my flower and tossed my heart away like it was trash? If only I had listen to Sabrina. She knew this was going to happen. She tried to convinced me but I just ignored her.
"Linus, you're just going to sulk? Elizabeth's not worth it." Sabrina brushes her furry hair away from her face, her big eyes blinked in disbelief. "Get up! You will find someone new. Maybe she's right in front of you and you don't even know it." I looked up at her, not saying a word. Then she got mad and said, "You're just a big fool!" Then she got up and ran away. Leaving me here, laying on the ground. Why was she so mad? I'm the one who had my heart broken. Then I reminded myself, I wasn't the only one who has their heart broken. Sabrina had always been there for me. Why was I such a fool? I got up, smooth off the leaves of my furry head and ran after Sabrina.

in blue, green and orange
they sparkle in the night sky
as they gather together around you
like wings they guide you up there
above the clouds
with your lights in everlasting shine
surreal where you are
but clearly you are not gone
not from here, not from me
your faded smile remain
reminding me it's okay to cry
as I wipe my tears away
looking up I can see your colors
caressing the sky
filling up my mind and heart with joy
Memories

her hideaway
empty now
too much darkness
eating into her heart
loosing weight as she fall deeper down
onto dried land
bending her knees
staring up at her house
a vacant chimney
tears flying down her cheeks
a rush of emotions covers her
a hand, a warm touch
lifts her up
into his arms she felt a memory
his heart beating strong
his smile warming her face
memories resurface
as they walk away together
hand in hand
