Autumn

leaves
petals flowing in the sunshine
boundless bliss preserved in the glory of summer
the day slowly falling towards night
catching whatever wonders it could find
until the settling sun gets replace
by the new winds of autumn

One Single Impression: autumn

That moment of catching wonders can be fleeting but glorious. Thanks for sharing this with OSI, Lissa. God bless.

Your image complements your verse very well. I like the idea that the wonders are caught by the seasons as they merge one into the other.

Living in the Deep South, I look to the onset of autumn with great anticipation. I dearly long for the new winds of autumn!

Hi Lissa, I liked your poem. Autumn takes it toll.
Thank you for your encouragement, I need encouragement to remain among the poetic artists around here.
I'm glad you called my poem today an ode, an ode to Adi. I didn't realize it could be such. I love Robert Burn's odes. I just don't read him often enough (my fault, I'm retired :-)).

I love the way you used the words day falling toward night to describe the shortening days. That is exactly what it feels like.
