bring me the sunset in a cup
filled with time's eternal flame
keep forevermore
by my bedside
touch every night
by moonbeams and starlights
when the sunset no longer shines
when it cease to exist
an empty cup I will savior
your love forever locked inside
an immortal embrace

'sunset in a cup/filled with time's eternal flame' That would be a cup to cherish. Beautiful words.
and you did a great job of carrying on a victorianesque tone... well done lissa....
Beautiful. And, the last stanza really brought it home for me. You even done this one in an allergy haze. Wow! Have a nice night.
I love the flavor of time you placed in this poem. You drew yourself into Dickinson's time and mirrored the language of the time period. Very lovely.
I read the entire Dickinson poem after I wrote mine (didn't want the influence). How about you?
Pam, I prefer to read the poem/inspiration piece after I have written mine but sometimes I would do the opposite if I couldn't write anything
Wow, this is awesome!
oh, this is a beautiful write.
the quiet intimate thoughts reflect beautifully of emily's poem... tho it definitely stands on its own.. luv the last stanze.. an empty cup i will savior did it for me...
I really like what you did with this prompt! It's beautiful.
I'm glad you're going to do the Message in a Bottle meme again, I'm sure you'll write something beautiful.
